Took a small break from blogging.

Time to crack my fingers and do some planning.

Warning. This is more of a stream-of-consciousness type of post. If you’re reading this, you’re here for the ride. I don’t even know what the destination will be.

About the last time I posted (15 days ago), I was in the middle of some hockey musings, posting my weekly workout routine, and other horse shit. I’d like to keep up with the hockey B.S., so let’s start there.

Puck

I’ve said it before. I hate talking sports on social media. I hate Reddit’s stupid downvote system, and boy, do I know how to make my point misunderstood on X. BlueSky looks like it could have potential, but that place is dead quiet.

I’d still like to post whatever thoughts come into my head here. Since most of my Blackhawks stuff is on On Tap, I don’t think I’ll write a lot of Hawks stuff. The redundancy makes it difficult. But sometimes I have thoughts that I don’t want to air out on On Tap. Those might go here.

Workouts

I know. No one cares.

I’m going to post these for my sake. Not every week, but I’ll try.

Art

Sigh.

You ever started something and had to stop because of life? I’m afraid that art is about to get a small pause. Which fucking annoys me. I hate stopping and then starting. Build momentum, pause. Rebuild. The cycle. Repeats.

That said, if I can’t draw (at least to the point of “getting good”), I might be writing more creative type stuff. And that’s where I want to narrow some of my focus. I have this stupid idea that I want to write a book. I have one that’s actually somewhat started, and another that’s in the fetus stage. There’s another project I’m mulling around, but we’ll see.

Continuing with the theme of writing (which kind of falls under art?), I’m going to partake in Dead Reckoning’s writing challenge, which kicks off on New Year’s Day. I’ll post those on my Instagram, which might get a small facelift.

Which leads me to the final topic.

Social Media

I hate social media. Or, really, I hate what it’s become. I don’t need to beat that dead horse (it won’t stay dead).

I already said that I’m going to redo some of my Instagram stuff. It’ll probably be more writing-focused for the time being. Just saying that hurts because I want to draw more. I’ll still cross-post to X, BlueSky, and whatever else.

For now, I’ll keep posting here on micro.blog. Although I’m eye-fucking Ghost again. I would have to learn how to self-host for that to happen, and I don’t know if that’s a pig worth skinning.

If you read all of that, thanks. If there’s anything you’d like to see me write about, give me a shout.
